1.Words from Mr.Kimura

With the start of the 2023 fiscal year, the PTA has also begun a new year. We will start with 25 members, including 11 members from last year and 14 new candidates. I am very encouraged.

I, Mr. Kimura, will continue to serve as the president of the PTA as I did last year. Ms Yoshida and Ms Sugimura have agreed to serve as vice presidents. Mr. Carnahan, who served as vice president last year, has accepted the position of auditor. We will proceed with this structure this year.

The three positions are decided by election every year, so we would very much like to have a new person in charge next year.

Now that Corona has finally dawned, normal school activities have returned. Last year, we have been working on the theme of "Reconnect". We had picnics and other new initiatives amidst the behavioral restrictions of Corona. This year we will have a bazaar and work on new events.

Last year we did a book donation as a donation activity, and we usually do a large donation every two years. Since this is the year, let's confer with the teachers and the school to make a meaningful donation activity.

I have only two years experience in the PTA, but it seems to me that lack of manpower is always an issue. First, we need to have the right number of board members to make it sustainable. This year, we will be launching a new initiative to have at least one officer from every class.

The PTA's bylaws stipulate the following as the purpose of the PTA

The purpose of the MIS PTA shall be to encourage parents and teachers to work together to nurture the international spirit of students and to contribute to bilingual education.

1. to improve the life of the students at home, at school and in the community.

2. to develop a close relationship between home and school.

3. to enhance the life of the school by contributing to its activities and by providing facilities.

Let us fulfill these objectives for the benefit of our children.

We look forward to working with you in the coming year.

4.The PTA General Meeting will be held on 30th May at 12:15.

The main subject will be about the budget for FY2023 and each committee’s plan for the current term.

We will check which class hasn’t got the PTA member yet and encourage them to join us.

1.木村会長からご挨拶

  2023年度が始まり、PTAも新年度が始動しました。昨年からのメンバー11名に新たに立候補して頂いた方々

14名を加えて25名でスタートします。大変心強いです。

 私、木村が昨年から続き会長を務めさせて頂きます。吉田さんと杉村さんに副会長をお引き受け頂きました。監査役は、昨年副会長を務めて頂いたスコットさんにお引き受け頂いております。本年はこの体制で進めさせて頂きます。

三役は一年毎の選挙で決まりますので、来年は是非新しい方に担っていただきたいと考えております。

さて、とうとうコロナが明けて、正常な学校活動が戻ってきました。昨年は「リコネクト」をテーマに活動をしてまいりました。コロナの行動制限の中、ピクニックなど新しい取り組みを行いました。今年はバザーがありますし、新しいイベントにも取り組んでいきましょう。

昨年は、寄付活動として本の寄付を行いましたが、通常は2年に一度の大規模な寄付を行います。今年がその年でありますので、先生、学校と協議をして意味ある寄付活動を行いましょう。

私はPTAの経験が2年しかありませんが、人手不足が常に課題のように思えます。まず、役員の人数を揃えなければ持続的な活動ができません。今年から新たに全てのクラスから最低1名の役員を出して頂く取り組みを行います。

規約にPTAの目的として以下のことが定められています。

 保護者と教員が協力して生徒の国際的な精神を育み、バイリンガル教育に貢献するよう、目的を次のとおりとする。

1. 家庭、学校及び地域社会における生徒の生活の向上に努める。

2. 家庭と学校の緊密な関係を構築する。

3. 学校の活動への貢献や、設備の提供を通した学校生活の向上を図る。

私たちの子どものために、これらの目的を果たしていきましょう。

今年一年、宜しくお願い致します。

まだ役員が選出されていないクラスをチェックして、引き続き参加して下さる方を募ります。
